The Program for Community Leaders is a training course for community representatives to improve skills in communication, advocacy, and reporting on security issues in the media, social networks, and at public events.
The program was created as part of the project "Safe Community: Developing Stakeholders' Capacity", implemented by the NGO "Institute of Peace and Understanding" (IMiP) with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
The program's goal is to prepare ambassadors for community safety who will possess the necessary skills and qualities to address security issues in the media and in personal communication.
Thanks to the program, civil society representatives, local government officials, and police officers completed training and gained skills in decision-making; promoting community-level change; communicating reforms and local changes; public speaking and presentations; and producing content and journalistic materials for the media, social networks, and other platforms.
The five most successful community-leader participants received scholarships to develop their own communication platforms and create materials about community safety to enhance their communities' capacity in the security sphere.
