"Energize yourself! Energize Ukraine!"

War is an extreme situation marked by high uncertainty, a large volume of information, and widespread use of propaganda. There are already many initiatives and organizations in Ukraine and in friendly countries that have joined the response to the challenges of the war.

At the same time, the country's transition to peacetime is also a serious challenge. That's why it's important to start developing tools for peaceful reconstruction now—tools that will unite society, transparently convey pre- and post-war stories, and help find new foundations for overcoming the humanitarian consequences of armed aggression.

A key part of this process is transforming societal energy from the realm of emergency

response during wartime into activities focused on the country's recovery.

The platform is a space that helps Ukrainians recover and come together to rebuild Ukraine. It empowers Ukrainians and unites them around personal recovery, communities, and the country.

Goalto help Ukrainians cope with the challenges of war and support their self-organization to engage in the reconstruction process.

Platform users will be able to:

  • read stories from eyewitnesses and participants of various events
  • share their own stories through interviews
  • help those in need
  • seek help or support for their own initiatives.

IMPLEMENTATION

through three key areas:

Past — this section outlines life in peaceful towns and communities, events immediately before the attack, and the unexpected, unplanned nature of the war for Ukrainians.

War — based on verified data, it presents information about both war crimes and human stories, accounts of military personnel and civilians, and assistance to Ukraine from abroad. The main focus, however, is on events in Ukraine: crimes and heroism, collaboration and resistance, and mutual aid.

Reconstruction — the platform will transform from an archive and storytelling site into a communication platform. It will create a space for contacts and interaction around visions, plans, and projects—a meeting place for requests and offers. Possible formats include message boards, crowdfunding, online/offline facilitation options, and participatory practices.
