IMiP board member Maksym Yeligulashvili took part in a joint interview with BBC Ukraine.

A March survey by the Rating group showedthat 90% of Ukrainians believe in Ukraine's victory, and 74% think Ukraine will regain territories within its 1991 borders. Therefore the question of effective policy in this area is already relevant now.

Experts emphasize that what reintegration of Donbas and Crimea will actually look like depends on many factors.

Will they be liberated in bloody fighting or will the Russians withdraw voluntarily under pressure? How severe will the destruction be in the liberated territories? And finally — when exactly will this happen?

But regardless of how and when it happens, there are eight challenges Ukraine will definitely face. The authorities should already have a plan for how to respond to them.

In the interview, experts discussed the following questions:

When and how to hold elections?

▪ What to do with collaborators and how to identify them?

▪ What to do about Russians?

▪ Who will work in state bodies and schools?

▪ What to do with Russian documents?

▪ Will Donbas and Crimea switch to the Ukrainian language?

▪ How can residents of Crimea and Donbas reconcile with people from other regions of Ukraine?

▪ How long will reintegration realistically last?
