The Forum was dedicated to creating a comfortable and safe environment for children in Ukraine.
On 1 June 2023, International Children's Day, the National Forum "A Family for Every Child" took place with the participation of Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska, representatives of the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and UNICEF.
From the Institute of Peace and Understanding, Board Member Maksym Yeligulashvili and Project Manager Darya Bielinska participated, serving as facilitators for the working groups.
As part of the event, local and national authorities, non-governmental organizations and child rights experts held consultations to identify key issues whose urgent resolution would help as many children in need as possible find caring families. These consultations also aimed to help local authorities and communities create an environment conducive to the flourishing of family-based care and upbringing.
